We are delighted at the provision of new flashing periodic lights on the approach to our school. Unfortunately Inappropriate Driver Behaviour means that our children are still at risk. In the interests of their safety please please collect your children at the gate as they are not supervised on the way to their cars.
Recommendations for Bus Operators:
1. Buses should arrive and depart promptly at 1:50pm / 2:50pm.
2. Buses should park in their designated bus bays in the evening – Long Buses in Long Bus Bays and Short Buses in Short Bus Bays.
3. At 1:50pm the Short Bus Bays are reserved for the two o’ clock bus services.
4. In the morning all bus children should be dropped off in the bus bays.
5. Bus drivers should supervise the pupils on and off the bus.
Recommendations for Parents:
1. Parents should not park in designated bus areas until after the buses have left.
Note: Parking is available in the Long Parking Bay whilst waiting for two o’ clock pupils.
2. Parents should not park on the opposite side of the road.
3. Parents should collect their children at the school gate.
4. Parents should not park across the front entrance or on double yellow lines.

Recommendations for Teachers / Staff / Visitors:
1. Teachers / Staff and Visitors should park at the far away end of the car park.
2. Teachers should promote the Road Safety Rules through the Revised Curriculum.
Note: Although Teachers and Assistants supervise the infants onto the school bus at 1:50pm and monitor collection at 2:00pm, it would be impossible for staff or parents to take overall responsibility for the supervision of pupils onto cars and buses at 2:50pm given the numbers involved, insurance concerns and the fact that some vehicles are not parked on school property. Collection at the gate is previously advised

3:00 – Remaining 1st 2nd & 3rd Car Pupils
Recommendations for Pupils:
1. Pupils should exit the grounds without rushing or taking short cuts.
2. Pupils should exercise due care, follow the Road Safety Rules and put into practice the advice given by parents, teachers and bus operators.
